Johnny Mack Garrett, Sr.

April 15, 1940 — October 18, 2021

Johnny Mack Garrett, Sr., 81, of Valdosta, died on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Heritage House Nursing Home. Born in Willacoochee, on April 15, 1940, he was the son of the late Roy and Annie Lee Nolan Garrett. Mr. Garrett was an electrician and a member of IBEW. He served his country in the U.S. Marines.
Survivors are his children, Johnny Mack Garrett, Jr. of Naylor, Stacy, and Mixson Anderson of Winder; grandchildren, Alex Garrett, Garret and John Gruhn, Lindsey Scarbrough Jackson Anderson, great grandchildren, Lilah Gruhn and Quinn Gruhn; sister, Louise Guarino, brother William Roy Garrett both of Valdosta. Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers and sisters, James Leroy Garrett, Raymond Garrett, Annie Myrle Metts, Gerald P. Garrett.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Brian LaBurt will officiate. A private inurnment will be held at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Memorial may be made to St. John’s Catholic School or to the church. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the family.
