Johnnie Mae Wilkes Treadwell

Mrs. Johnnie Mae Wilkes Treadwell (Nanny), 63, of Valdosta, GA, entered Heaven on October 4, 2011, to join her beloved husband Glenn Treadwell (Pops).

She was one of four children born to Edna H. Wilkes (Granny Rabbit) and the late John R. Wilkes, on January 15, 1948 in Adel, GA.

In addition to her mother, she leaves behind six children and their spouses, Joey and Rex Michael, Jason and Jessica Treadwell, Angie and Rich Matthews, Glenn Treadwell, Jr., John and Kathleen Treadwell, and Pam and Steve Mixon; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Martha Raborn; and a brother-in-law, George Boyd. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Joseph Treadwell; sister, Patricia Boyd; and a brother, John Wilkes.

Mrs. Johnnie and her husband Glenn lived in Hephzibah, GA for twenty-seven years before making their home in Valdosta three years ago with her niece and husband, Deanna and Timothy (Uncle Blue) Beard; great-niece and husband, Amanda and Clint Griffin and their son Matthew; and brother-in-law, George Boyd. She spent her life making a home for her family, and opened her heart and home to many families and children through the years as a child-care provider. She touched the lives of many people and will always be lovingly remembered as "Nonnie".

A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate and remember Johnnie and Glenn Treadwell at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Fleming Baptist Church, 3027 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
