Johnnie Edward Faglie

Johnnie Edward Faglie, of Valdosta, born to Clara N. Faglie and Gerald C. Faglie on November 19, 1947 passed his soul on Sunday, June 11, 2006 to the keeping of his Lord and Master Jesus Christ for safe keeping.

Born in Valdosta at the Little and Griffin Hospital, he strove to do the best he could while attending church and school in Valdosta. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served his country with both honor and pride during a time when many United States Citizens aimed their anger at those in service instead of those in political power.

Twice married and twice disavowed he managed while battling debilitating illnesses, to raise three children to adulthood in a loving and caring way.

In death Johnnie leaves behind many loyal friends whose personal kindness will not be soon forgotten. These friends are considered extended family by his brother Gerald C. Faglie (Nina) of Pensacola, FL and sister, Beverly K. Hanifl (David) of La Crescent, Minnesota. His beloved children are Misty Ann Browning (Scott) of Valdosta, Georgia, Dawn Michelle Ashley (Josh) of Elmendorf AFB, Alaska and James Edward Faglie (Amanda) of F. E. Warren AFB, Wyoming; grandchildren, Cody and Christopher Ashley, Kaylee and Taylor Lowery, Trent and Justyn Cannon and Kassi and Cole Browning.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Sayre officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
