Johnnie E. Fowler, 67, of Lake Park, died suddenly on Friday, November 17, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Atlanta to Lillian Stephens Fowler and the late Elmer Augustus Fowler, he had lived in this area for the past 35 years. Mr. Fowler was a printing press operator at Dowling Bag, Drumheller Bag, and then retired from Colonial Bag in Lake Park. He was of the Baptist faith and his favorite pastime was fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Annette R. Fowler, of Lake Park; four sons and two daughters in law, David and Stephanie Fowler, of Gray, Alan Fowler, Glen Fowler, both of Lake Park, and Jody Lee & Louise Fowler of Valdosta; his mother, Lillian Louise Fowler, and a sister, Nancy Echols, both of Rome. Also surviving are three grandchildren, John Alexander Fowler of Gray, Jon E. Fowler and Ruby Lynn Fowler, both of Valdosta; a sister in law, Lola Morris of Thomaston, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Copeland Cemetery. Rev. Robert Dawson will officiate. The family will receive friends at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park on Tuesday afternoon from 1 until 2:30. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lake Park Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
