John William "Bill" Harvey, Jr., 84, of Valdosta died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his home. He was born in Moultrie, Georgia on September 3, 1932 to the late John William Harvey, Sr. and Mildred Adams Harvey and had lived in Valdosta for the past twelve years. He was a graduate of the Georgia Military Academy. Mr. Harvey was formerly of Darlington, South Carolina where he had served as president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Rotary Club and a Ford Automobile Dealer. He had worked as an auditor at Prince Automotive and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valdosta.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances Harvey of Valdosta; his son and daughter in law, James Matthew and Tori Harvey of Florence, SC; two sisters and brothers in law, Betty and Les Drake of Tallahassee, FL and Kahler and H. P. "Sonny" Bell of Athens, GA; several nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Liam Drake Harvey.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Moon officiating.
