John Samuel (Sam) Trogdon, 77, of Valdosta, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, Florida following a lengthy illness. He was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 14, 1940 to the late Alford and Florrie Flanders Trogdon. Sam was a veteran of the United States Navy and was a retired industrial paint contractor and real estate broker. He was a member of New Covenant Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Noles Trogdon of Valdosta; his daughter, Susannah Trogdon of Valdosta; his sons, John Trogdon of Valdosta, Adam Trogdon, and Kyle Trogdon both of Alpharetta; daughters and sons-in-law, Lauree and Chandler Griffin of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, and Amber and Lonnie Powell of Nashville, GA; his sons, Jesse Moore, Dusty Moore, and Jamie Moore all of Valdosta; his five grandchildren, Levi Griffin, Haiden Griffin, Noah Griffin all of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, Kyla Hancock and Gavin Hancock of Nashville, GA; his father-in-law Ralph Noles of Valdosta; his brothers Bob and Latrell Trogdon of Waycross, GA, and Fred and Jean Trogdon of KY; and several nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanne Trogdon, and his brother Alford Trogdon.
A memorial service for Sam Trogdon will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Hesters and Pastor Jeff Williams officiating.
