John Phillip Halstead, 51, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at his residence. He was born on October 7, 1954 in Albany, GA and was a member of the Faith Assembly Church.

Survivors are daughters and son-in-law, Stephanie and Doug Holt of Valdosta, Jamie Halstead of Mountville, SC; son, John David Halstead of Valdosta; grandchildren, Sean, Devin, Cody and Faith Holt of Valdosta; his mother, Marion Elizabeth Halstead of Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Kathy Halstead of Pennsylvania, Dan and Tina Halstead of Atlanta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lillie and Dan Cates of Kentucky, Barbara and Greg Clinebell of West Virginia, Naomi and Elmer Vest, Beth and John Shivler all of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Halstead, a son, John Phillip Halstead, Jr. and his father, John William Halstead.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Gerry Russo officiating.
