John Mark Ritzman, 52, of Lake Park, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mark was born July 11, 1962 in Akron, Ohio. For many years he had been a truck driver, until his health forced him to retire. He was a member of Valdosta Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed camping, boating, waterskiing, and being outdoors. Mark always had a wonderful sense of humor, which he kept with a positive attitude throughout his illness.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Debbie Graybeal Ritzman; one son, Aaron Ritzman; two daughters, Ashley Ritzman and Kaitlyn Ritzman, all of Lake Park; two grandchildren, Tyler Ritzman and Bryson Ritzman; a sister, Lori Lottes and husband Jim of Columbus, OH; his step-father, Paul Gamertsfelder of Columbus, OH; a step-sister, Adria Schumann and husband Brad of Bloomington, IL; a step-brother, Thom Gamertsfelder and wife Kathy of Columbus, OH; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joanne and Morris Graybeal of Milledgeville; two sisters-in-law, Sherri Watt and husband Rev. Dale Watt of Manchester, and Brenda Rink and husband Jason of Auburn; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companions, Jake, Barwick, Babygirl and Remy. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ritzman and Wanda Ritzman Gamertsfelder.
The Funeral Service for Mark will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Watt, Rev. Brian Sayre and Pastor David Bane officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
