Mr. John Louis Carter, 69, of Homerville, died suddenly on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta to late Louis and Mitt Kuykendall Carter on November 11, 1938 and was a farmer. He loved to travel and was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. Farming was not only his occupation, but it was also his life.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Louis, Jr. and Mary Kay Carter of Chicago, Ill., Josh and Jennifer Carter of Valdosta; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Allan Chanaverry of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Kathryn Chanaverry and Carter Chanaverrry of Atlanta, Bradley Carter of Valdosta and Kayleigh Joy Carter of Chicago, Ill.; a brother and sister-in-law, Al and Valerie Carter of Warner Robins and a sister, Gaile Carter of Lake Park. He was preceded in death by his wife Joy Kennedy Carter.
A life celebration for John Louis Carter will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at the Homerville United Methodist Church with Rev. James Davis officiating.
