John Michael King

John Michael King, 67, a resident of  Sandy Springs, GA, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Born on December 13, 1956, in Waco, TX, to the late Joseph Henry King and Mary Sutliff King.

John was a graduate of Valdosta State University and a successful CPA. His interests included stock market predictions, nurturing his garden, and cherishing moments with his beloved family. John led a modest life yet held dear his autographed copy of The Millionaire Next Door. A faithful devotee to its principles, John enthusiastically shared copies with family and friends.

Left to honor John's legacy is his devoted wife of 34 years, Carol Townsend King, of Sandy Springs, GA. He is also survived by his caring brothers Joseph King (Trixi) of Atlanta, GA, David King (Julia) of Gainesville, GA, Paul King (Evelyn) of Atlanta, GA, and Donald King (Franci) of Alpharetta, GA. Additionally, his sisters Carole King Huston of Medford, NY, Mary Alice King Johnson (Wade) of Union City, NJ, Dr. Peggy King-Sears (Michael) of Daytona Beach, FL, Janie King Atkinson (Mike) of Jacksonville, FL, and Karen King Scanlan (John) of Greensburg, PA, mourn his loss. John will be dearly missed by multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and godchildren.

A funeral mass in memory of John will be conducted at 12 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Valdosta, GA, followed by burial at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5-7 pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home and on Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11 am-12 pm at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
