John "Johnny" Mannion

John “Johnny” Mannion, 76, of Adel, died at Langdale Hospice House on Friday March 14, 2025. Born November 11, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Patrick Joseph Mannion and Leona Cecilia Gardynik Mannion. He grew up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan and attended school there. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. As a mechanic he worked briefly for Ford Motor Company and then had several other jobs over time. He lived with various family members in various parts of the country. Johnny loved being outdoors and enjoyed all the beauty of nature. His favorite past time was watching Westerns on TV and listening to classic Rock and Roll music.

Survivors are his brother and sister-in-law, James and Sylvia Williamson of Dearborn, Michigan, sisters, Dolores Barnes of Onsted, Michigan, Barbara Scott of Westland, Michigan, brothers, Patrick Mannion of Adel, Thomas Mannion of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, sisters, Louise Proctor and Linda Edwards of Adel, Janice Howell of New Albany, Mississippi; numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Elaine Bailey.

A private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Hospice of South Georgia. Carson McLane Funeral Home has been entrusted with caring for the Mannion family.
