John Floyd Holton, Jr., 86, of Valdosta, died at his home on Friday, March 9, 2007. Born in Macon on October 16, 1920, he was the son of the late John Floyd Holton, Sr. and Wilma Clayton Holton Boggus. Mr. Holton attended Valdosta High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1942, serving honorably in the South Pacific until the end of WWII . Mr. Holton was an Electronics Technician and had retired from Sears.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Mildred (Millie) Fielding Holton of Valdosta, three sons and two daughters in law, John Bruer and Sandi Holton of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Glynn Holton of Valdosta, Tim and Debbie Holton of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Jennifer Tomlin of Tallahassee, Florida, Luke Holton and Matthew Holton of Valdosta, Carly Holton and Bruer Holton of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother and sister in law, Robert (Bob) and Nancy Holton of Southhaven, Mississippi; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy (Bud) Holton and Billy Holton.
The Holton family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Monday, March 12, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Private graveside services will be held at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com
