John F. Jarrard

John F. Jarrard, 49, of Statenville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1964 in Valdosta to the late Harvey Preston and Velma Ray Jarrard and has been a resident of this area his whole life. He was associated with Valdosta Toyota for 25 years and was the finance manager and recently continued his career with Valdosta Honda Kia dealership as a salesman. John was a hard worker but also enjoyed seeing the humor in every day life. He made it his mission to make people laugh and feel good about themselves and to not take life too seriously.

Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra Jarrard, and a son, Frankie Jarrard both of Statenville; his ex-wife, Vicki Fender of Fruitland, Georgia; two aunts, Janie Peters and Frances Jarrard both of Statenville; uncles and aunts, Bobby and Sis Jarrard and Tommy and Shirley Jarrard all of Hiwassee, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Betty Ann and Gary Brotherton of North Carolina and Nancy and Jerry Woods of Suches, Georgia; an aunt, Johnnie Sue Head of Norcross, Georgia and an uncle, Homer Jarrard of Florida; numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Jarrard and an uncle, Cecil Jarrard.

Services for John F. Jarrard will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park, Georgia. The burial will follow in the Statenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
