John David Williams, Sr.

John David Williams, Sr., 55, of Valdosta, died Monday, March 29, 2010 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta from complications following a stroke on January 2, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 9, 1954 in Valdosta. Mr. Williams worked for Reinhart Food Service, was a member and elder at Lakeland Church of Christ, loved fishing, hunting and serving others.

He is survived by his wife of almost twenty nine years, Kathi Williams, his son, Don Williams, his daughter, Kimberly Williams all of Valdosta, his mother, Ida Whittle Williams of Hahira, brother and sister in law, Willie C., Jr. and Joann Williams of Lake Park, James (Chris) Williams, Raymond Lee Williams, sister and brother in law, Barbara Diana and Larry Massey, all of Valdosta, brother and sister in law, Thomas and Janet Williams of Rossville, GA, sister and brother in law, Judy and Michael Buwa of Valdosta, Lorraine and Charles Rasmussen of Adel, sister, Evelyn Bailey of Hahira, sister and brother in law, Sherry and Mark Martin of Valdosta, brother in law, James Wilkerson of Valdosta, sister in law, Judy Phipps of Athens, TN, sister in law and brother in law, Diane and Phil Beach of Arab, AL, brother in law and sister in law, Ricky and Kimberly Wilkerson of Broken Arrow, OK, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his son, John David Williams, Jr., his father, Willie Carlos Williams, Sr., mother in law and father in law, Martha and Jack Wilkerson, two sisters in law, Penny Williams and Fran Williams and brother in law, Terry Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2, 2010 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Rusty Parker, Mr. Bill Ward and Mr. David Abbot officiating. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
