A very active Republican who helped to establish the party in Lowndes County and Georgia, Mr. Woodward attended the Republican National Convention twice, as a Georgia delegate. Active in the Elks Club, he was thought to be the oldest living Past Exalted Ruler of an Elks Lodge in Georgia prior to his death. He held a love for flying throughout his life, restoring and flying old airplanes.
