John B. Caldwell, 74, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, January 25, 2005. Born in New Castle, Indiana, on February 25, 1930, Mr. Caldwell was the son of the late John and Hazel Stansberry Caldwell. Longtime resident of Indiana, he had made his home in Valdosta for the past 5 years. Retired from the U.S. Army and from General Motors, he was a member of First Church of The Nazarene.
Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Hatcher Caldwell of Valdosta; sons, Terry and Loretta Caldwell of Helenwood, Tennessee, James and Sharon Caldwell of Crossville, Tennessee, daughter, Judy Caldwell of Jamestown, Tennessee; brothers, Russell Caldwell of Red Key, Indiana, Ted Caldwell of Jamestown, Tennessee, David Caldwell of Ponte, Indiana; sisters, Virginia Wappes of Dunkirk, Indiana, Caroll and Russ Taylor of Crossville, Tennessee, Sharon and Max Goodpasture of Jamestown, Tennessee; stepchildren, Rex and Carroll Williams of Muncie, Indiana, Rock and Judie Williams of Yorktown, Indiana, Mark and Kristina Williams of Valdosta; several grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 29, 2005 in the chapel of M J S Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel, Dunkirk, Indiana with Rev. David Boots officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memory in Muncie, Indiana. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the M J S Mortuaries Dunkirk Chapel.
