Joe F. Craig

Joe F. Craig, 62, of Lake Park died on Friday, March 20, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on July 28, 1946 to the late James Walter and Martha Suits Craig in Birmingham, Alabama. He was retired from Roadway Express Trucking Company and was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Craig was a veteran having served in both the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. He served two tours in Viet Nam while in the Air Force and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sherry Craig of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Kim Floyd-Darling and James Darling; a son and his fiancé, Rex Craig and Sheree Rowland all of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and Jason Cone of Sparks; grandchildren, James and Crystal Darling of Echols County, Crystal and Jeremy Evans of Germany, Braeden Graham Floyd of Lake Park, Marissa McKenzie Darling also of Lake Park, Taylor Sparks Craig of Lake Park, Forrest Snyder of South Carolina, Kari Butenschon of Alabama, Hannah Butenschon of Lake Park, Gracie Craig of Lake Park, Bryce Cone and Carly Grace Cone of Sparks; a brother, James Walter (Jimmy) Craig, Jr.

Services for Joe F. Craig will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Mays officiating. The burial will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
