Joe Boughton, Sr.

Joe Boughton, Sr., 83 of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born on August 7, 1922 in Indianapolis, IN, he was the son of the late William and Mary McGinley Boughton. He retired from ITT having worked in purchasing and management. Mr. Boughton was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and was a long time member of the Country Club and Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Boughton of Valdosta; sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Jr. and Marilyn Boughton of Alpharetta, Mike and Teressa Boughton of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kelly Boughton, Joe Boughton III both of Alpharetta, Jennifer and Billy Okuma of Morrow; great grandchildren, Alana Okuma and Kendall Okuma both of Morrow and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Pieplow officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
