JoAnn J. Dixon, 75, of Lake Park, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on August 14, 1935 in Valdosta to the late Earl W. and Pauline Peters Johnson. Mrs. Dixon was a bookkeeper and homemaker and was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold Dixon, Sr. of Lake Park, one daughter and son in law, Tami and Mark Clegg of Adel, one son and daughter in law, Harold, Jr. and Debbie Dixon of Valdosta, her mother, Pauline P. Johnson of Lake Park, three grandchildren, Brandie Hudson, Kathryn Hardin and Makensey Dixon, three step grandchildren, Stevan Van Hook (Rick), Austin McDonald and Blane McDonald, two step great grandchildren, Jon Paige Van Hook and Samuel David Wright, one sister and brother in law, Frances and Dick Lane of Atlanta, one brother and sister in law, Earl W., Jr. and Linda Johnson of Atlanta, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Willie Beasley and Rev. V.L. Daughtery officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
