Joan Braziel Gordon

Joan Brazil Gordon, 84, of Glynn County, passed away Friday, December 25, 2009, at Brunswick Hospital.

She was born November 12, 1925 in Wilcox County. Mrs. Gordon had lived in Valdosta, worked in the operation of her family's business, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church, before moving to Glynn County in 1989.

She is survived by her children: Donna Gordon Jones and husband Robert Warren Jones, Tifton, GA, Deborah Gordon McGinty and husband Fred W. McGinty, Sr., Brunswick, GA, Gregory Wayne Gordon (Greg) and wife Juanita Allen Gordon, St. Simons Island, GA, and David Lee Gordon and wife Karen Hogan Gordon, Hahira, GA; her grandchildren: Stacey Jones Flint, Jennifer Jones McCray, Leah McGinty Bumbalough, Jeremy Milton Jones, Stephen Martin Jones, Derek Lee Gordon, Frederick William McGinty, Jr. (Ty), Ryan Michael Gordon, and Alexa Gordon Smith; twelve great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Ernest Brazil, Jr. and Robert Brazil, both of Rochelle, GA. She was predeceased by her husband, a Veteran, Hewlette Ashford Gordon.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Gordon will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Hahira, with her son, Pastor David L. Gordon officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. The Gordon family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 pm Sunday at the Church, prior to the funeral.
