Jiu Chuan (John) Lin, 49, of Valdosta, died on Monday, November 18, 2024, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Fuzhou, China on May 4, 1975, John moved to the San Francisco in 1992, he soon started working in restaurants in California and then in Philadelphia before moving to Atlanta in 1995. He worked in Feng Mei when he moved to Atlanta. In 2002, Yan Zhu moved to Atlanta to join John, they had known each other before John moved to the States and were soon married. In 2006 John and Yan moved to Valdosta to start Beijing Café, which they have operated for 18 years now. John was a very creative person always searching for new foods and flavor combinations. He also enjoyed art such as drawing, and he enjoyed listening to music. Traveling with his family and a general love of learning were also things John was known for. If you were a good friend, John considered you his family and he enjoyed peaceful times of contemplation.
Survivors include his wife, Yan Zhu of Valdosta, a daughter, Jin Lin and a son Ben Lan Lin, both of Valdosta; his father and mother, Long Dian Lin and Li Qin Weng, of Valdosta. Also surviving are his brother Jiu En Lin of Atlanta and a sister Sai Ning Lin of China.
