Jimmy Barfield

Jimmy Barfield, 68 of Lake Park, died on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born on November 15, 1937 in Griffin, GA, he was the son of the late David, Sr. and Mattie Rutland Barfield. He was a retired truck driver having driven for 51 years and drove for National Van Lines for 14 years. Mr. Barfield was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving is his wife, Betty Barfield of Lake Park; three daughters and one son-in-law, Debbie Barfield, Cindy Barfield, Judy and Albert Kennedy of Naylor; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Teressa Barfield of Valdosta; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Foskey of Lake Park, Barbara Williamson of Valdosta; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, David and Pearl Barfield, Jr. of Avon Park, FL, Jack and Lillian Barfield of Statenville, Juana Barfield of Lake Park, Gwen Barfield of Statenville and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Barfield and Mary Carter and two brothers, Wayne Barfield and Sonny Barfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Luke officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
