Jim Sam Williams, 64, of Valdosta, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at South Georgia Medical Center. Jim was born on November 23, 1954 in Paintsville, KY to the late Thomas Samuel Williams, and Emma Flo Stafford Williams. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years in the service. Jim loved fishing and hunting and used to be an avid golfer. He enjoyed woodworking and was a collector of many different things. He loved to watch John Wayne westerns, play solitaire, and work sudoku puzzles. Jim loved his family more than anything. He was a member of Grace Community Church.
Jim is survived by his wife of 25 years Brenda Sue Williams, of Valdosta, two daughters Tiffaney (David) Christman, of Reynoldsburg, OH, Cassie (Jason) Smesny, of Huntsville, AL, two stepsons James (Beth) McManus, of Winnsboro, SC, Sean McManus and Ben Sawyer of Chicago, IL, five grandchildren: Chloe Christman, Maggie McManus, Hannah McManus, Patrick McManus, Collin Smesny, one sister Tomma (Tucker) Howard, of Paintsville, KY, and a favorite nephew Tuck Howard, of Lexington, KY.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Danner officiating.
