Jewell (Vawvaw) Fry

JEWELL (VawVaw) FRY 93, of Hahira died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at her home. She was born in Hahira on December 1, 1912 to the late Owen and Byrdie Patten Register and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mrs. Fry had been an Avon Representative and with her late husband, Lloyd W. Fry owned and operated a local store and managed the family farm. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and loved to travel with the travel club. Mrs. Fry devoted herself to her family.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Larry W. and Lavern Fry of Hahira, two grandsons and a granddaughter in law, Lawrence W. Fry of Denver, CO. and Michael W. and Lorie Fry of Los Angeles, Calif., great grandson, Ethan Lloyd Fry of Madison, NJ., two sisters in law, Evelyn Bailey of Valdosta and Fern Smith of Hahira and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Fry will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the services.
