Jeweldine Arnold Black, 75, of Valdosta passed away on June 11, 2015. She was born in Valdosta on February 21, 1940 to the late Grover Cleveland and Clarice Anna Brown Arnold. Mrs. Black was a lifelong resident of Valdosta and a member of the Valdosta High School class of 1960. For 42 years she was the co-owner, along with her late husband, of Dixie Cream Donuts. In her spare time she enjoyed painting and needlework. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Black was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ.
Jeweldine Black is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Janet Black; a granddaughter, Nikki Jackson; two great grandchildren, Braylon and McKenzie Jackson all of Valdosta; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, David and Sharon Arnold of Valdosta, Jerry Wayne and Yvonne Arnold of Riverview, FL, Wonda Arnold of Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Rabon Sutton of Valdosta; three loving dogs, Bella, Zeus, and Diesel; several nieces and nephews and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ernest B. Black and a brother, Charles Arnold.
Services for Jeweldine Black will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday June 17, 2015 in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Barden will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Flower donations will be accepted or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Kidney Fund.
