Jessie Crews Hardee

February 22, 1919 — September 9, 2015

Jessie Crews Hardee, 96, of Valdosta died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Crestwood Nursing Home. She was born on February 22, 1919 in Echols County, GA to the late Denner Crews and Julia Dryden Crews. Her greatest joys were her family and church. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years and a past member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Hardee worked with the Lowndes County School System lunchrooms for twenty five years and after retirement worked at Park Avenue United Methodist Church as Wednesday night cook for ten years.
Mrs. Hardee is survived by two sons and daughter in law, Julian Hardee of Valdosta, Edwin and Jeanne Hardee of Walker, LA, her daughter and son in law, Pearl and Richard Atkison of Valdosta, daughter in law, Audrey Register Hardee of Fargo, GA, grandchildren, Denise Dasher (Harold) of Lake Park, Dena Martin (Marty) of Little Rock, AR, DeAnn Haynes of Valdosta, Adam Hardee (Bethany) of Warner Robins, Sarah Seim (Adam) of Brooklyn, NY, Joshua Hardee (Tara) of Perry, GA, Caleb Hardee (Julie) of Denham Springs, LA, Michael Atkison of Valdosta, Jeffery Atkison (Roxie) of Lake Park, Roger Atkison (Kim) of Anderson, SC, brother in law and sister in law, Ferman and Carolyn Hardee of Valdosta, step-grandchildren, Dyna Hastings and Rocky Spivy of Valdosta, twenty great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Mitchell Hardee and one son, Reverend Alton Virgil Hardee.
We would like to thank the staff at Crestwood Nursing Home and Pruitt Health Hospice for their kind care.
Pallbearers will be Mike Atkison, Jeffery Atkison, Roger Atkison, Adam Hardee, Joshua Hardee and Caleb Hardee.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 11, 2015 from six until eight p. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at ten a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Carlton Allen and Reverend Steve Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
