Jesse Lee Folsom

Jesse Lee Folsom, 85, of Hahira died Monday, August 18, 2014. He was born on February 16, 1929 in Hahira to Lewis J. and Arrie Copeland Folsom and was a lifelong resident of Hahira. Mr. Folsom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle. His life was devoted to his family, church and community. Mr. Folsom enjoyed sharing his many stories with all and did regularly with the men's breakfast group. He loved showing his collection of antique tractors.

Mr. Folsom was a retired farmer and rural mail carrier with the Hahira Post Office and enjoyed being a member of the Hahira Historical Society. He was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty four years, Virginia L. Folsom, a daughter in law, Sandy Folsom and a sister in law, Addie L. Forte.

Survivors include his two sons, Roger Folsom of Dublin, Randy Folsom of Hahira, his daughter and son in law, Lynne Folsom Johnson and Buster Johnson of Adel, his grandsons, Allen (Brittany) Folsom, Matt (Ashley) Folsom, Zach Johnson, his granddaughters, Amy (Chris) Davis, Ashley Johnson, great grandsons, Holt Folsom, Tate Folsom, Cason Bullard, Gage Folsom, great granddaughters, Caitlin Bullard and Bailey Folsom, one brother and sister in law, Raymond and Annie Jane Folsom of Hahira, sister in law and brothers in law, Barbara L. and John Fulp of Cecil, Williard Forte of Adel.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Hahira United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Woodson, Rev. Lynn Hurley and Rev. Ike Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home.
