Jesse Brewer, Jr., 86, of Valdosta died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Tulsa, OK on May 24, 1921 to the late Jesse James & Mary Sutterfield Brewer. Mr. Brewer served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater and was a member of the American Legion Post # 13 & VFW #1777. He attended the Swilley Hill Church of God as well as Grace Baptist Church. He was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Arvella James Brewer; daughters & sons in law, Denise & Bob Tebedo of Valdosta, Diane & Jimmy Carter of Statenville, Linda Adams of Lake Park, Patricia & Greg Britcher of Iowa; sons & daughters in law, Sam & Jeannie Brewer, Valdosta, Gary Brewer and Allen Brewer of Illinois, Jesse Brewer of Washington, Weldon & Mildred Brewer of Oklahoma, Don Staten of Elijay, Tommy & June Staten of Statenville; thirty grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; sister, Helen Turner of Tulsa, OK. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David, Ralph & Lee Brewer; sister, Opal Markley and three infant siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dean Spivey and Pastor Bobby Frier officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Lakewood Funeral Home.
