Jesse (J. E.) Fender, 81, of Lake Park died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his residence. He was born on October 26, 1931 in Pearson, GA to the late Carl Fender and Wilma Inman Fender. Mr. Fender was a retired Supervisor from Owens-Illinois, a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of Antioch Church, former Mayor of Lake Park, an avid gardener, involved in the Lake Park Historical Society and was a consultant for the city of Lake Park.
He is survived by two sons, Calvin Fender and his fiancé Leean Stanley of Lake Park, Carl Fender of Valdosta, two daughters and one son in law, Bonnie Rocheleau of Lake Park and Connie and Ronald Hendricks of Birmingham, AL, grandchildren, Scott Fender, Bazlyn Lewis (Brent), Amber Lamontagne (Jeremy), Stevie McGilvray, Jonathan Hendricks and Christopher Hendricks, great grandchildren, Ryder Fender, Dakota Fender, Haley J. Jackson, Weslyn Jackson and Noah Fender, four sisters, Edith Boyd of Naylor, Loleta Jewell of Alma, Mary Morris of Pearson and Linnie Leslie of Pearson. Mr. Fender was preceded in death on April 2, 2007 by his wife of fifty two years, Evelyn Fender.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at one p. m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Reverend Keith Sandlin officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from six until eight p. m. at the funeral home.
