Jerry Wendell Hart

Jerry Wendell Hart, 77, of Quitman, died on Monday, December 28, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in New York City on September 21, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Minnie Lee Coody Hart. He had operated the Hitching Post Drive In and Old South Barbeque before his retirement. Mr. Hart was a member of Forrest Street Church of Christ.

Survivors are his wife, Margaret Lewis Hart of Quitman, three sons and daughters in law, Richard Wayne and Debbie Hart of Valdosta, Donald Wendell and Kim Hart of Lake Park, Michael W. and Troylene Hart of Valdosta; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, brother and sister in law, Donnie and Debbie Hart of Dasher.

A memorial service for Mr. Hart will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at three o�clock p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Fred Foster will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Georgia Christian School.
