Jerry Turner Tison

Jerry Turner Tison, 63, of Valdosta died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Langdale Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was born in Quitman of April 12, 1947 to Myrtice Zeigler Tison Pritchard and the late Samuel Turner Tison. Mr. Tison was a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy and a Methodist. He enjoyed being a mechanic and restoring old classic cars. Mr. Tison was enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, fishing, camping and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Tison of Valdosta, his children and their spouses, Jerrell Kevin Tison of Valdosta, Sheryl Lynn and Mike Usic of Valdosta, Deana Marie and Chad Kinsley of South Dakota, Theresa Dawn and Jamie Gandy of Valdosta, his grandchildren, Dillan Turner Tison, Devin Tanner Tison, Michael John Usic, Logan Christopher Usic, Brooke Marie Kinsley, Amber Lee Kinsley, stepgrandchildren, Jason Cooner, Quinley Cooner, Whitney Sparks, and Aaron Sparks, two great grandchildren, Cameron Cooner and Chloe Shae Cooner his mother and stepfather, Myrtice and Richard James Pritchard of Valdosta, two sisters and brothers in law, Judy Tison Wilson and David Wilson, Peggy Tison Wisenbaker and Ronny Wisenbaker, brother and sister in law, Larry Wayne and Evie Tison all of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Murwin Tison.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Austin Williams officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Quitman. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
