Jerry Mack Peace, Sr.

Jerry "Mack" Peace, Sr., 69, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Valdosta on November 4, 1940 to the late Benjamin Claude and Annie Elizabeth Crosby Peace. He was a graduate of Valdosta High School and served in the National Guard. He retired from Langdale Forest Products as Sales Manager and was a member of the Withlacoochee Hunting Club. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Elaine Peace of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Stanley Greene of Lake Park and Lynn and David Wood of Cumming, GA.; a son, Jerry Mack Peace, Jr. of Mooresville, NC; five grandchildren, Amanda Pittman of Lake Park, Kristin Patterson and her husband Dustin of Douglas, Kaitlyn Wood and Connor Wood both of Cumming, and Benjamin Mack Peace of Mooresville, NC; a great-granddaughter, Tinley Elizabeth-Jean Patterson of Douglas; a brother, Hollis Peace; sisters and brothers-in-law, Madlyn and Ed Hightower and Anne and Bobby Bray all of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Mack Peace will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Ed Minton officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
