Jerry Green

Jerry Green, 72, of Naylor, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at South Georgia Medical Center.

He was born December 28, 1942, in Lowndes County, a son of the late Lawrence Jerry and Elva Mae Register Green. Mr. Green was a member of The Rock Church, he was a loving husband, caring father and a man of great character. His living and love came from the outdoors; farming, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Linda Green of Naylor; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jerolyn and Glen Starling of Hahira, and Malyn and Ronald Porter of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Danelle and Kacilyn Starling, Brent Porter, Pamela and husband Eric Reed, Tabitha and husband Robert Pullen, and Michela Porter; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Maxwell and Glenda Green of Naylor, and Irvin and Linda Green of Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law, Aleta and Dub Register of Naylor; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Green will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Pastor Glen M. Starling officiating. Interment will follow at Wayfare Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
