Jerry F. Dickson

Jerry F. Dickson, 73, of Valdosta died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, GA. He was born on March 21, 1943 in Cook County, GA to the late Bardin Wainwright Dickson and Sarah Jane McClendon Dickson. Mr. Jerry Dickson taught school at Cook County High School and Lowndes County High School. He attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Mr. Dickson was a member of Theater Guild of Valdosta, was active in (LIR) Learning In Retirement and was a member of the Valdosta Lowndes Retired Educators.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Sandra B. Dickson, his son and daughter in law, B. Scott and Renee Dickson, four grandchildren, Anieyssa Dickson, Bardin Dickson, Weston Dickson and Kinnon Dickson all of Valdosta, numerous honorary grandchildren. Mr. Dickson is predeceased by his parents and his brother in law, Bill Belote.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend George Bennett and Reverend Bob Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home.
