Jerry Alton Bellflower, 72, of Naylor died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Bleckley County, Georgia on November 12, 1948 to the late Charles Lester and Ethie Pritchett Belflower and lived in Lowndes County for many years. Jerry was a Baptist, a veteran of the United States Air Force and employed with SAFT. He loved deer hunting, fishing, camping and spending time outside in the country.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Elaine Parkerson Bellflower of Naylor, his son and daughter in law, Jeremy and Alicia Bellflower of Clyattville, his daughter, Jessica Johnson of Naylor, his grandchildren, Elaina Michelle Johnson, Logan Michelle Bellflower, Joshua Jackson; his sisters in law and brother in law, Virginia Wooten of North Carolina, Shirley Sainz of Valdosta, Tommy and Teresa Parkerson of Valdosta; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Leland Belflower, Charles Welch Belflower, James Franklin Belflower, James Alvin Bellflower, Herman Edward Belflower, William Harris Belflower and two sisters, Eula Arlene Belflower Purser and Infant Sara Belflower.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, October 2, 2021 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to the charity on one’s choice.
