TSgt Jeremy “K-pow” Kanapaux, 33, of Valdosta, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024. He was born on March 26th, 1991, to George Wilson Kanapaux and Marcy Lynn Dalton. Born and raised in Charleston, SC, he graduated from Stratford High School in 2009. He was very active in Boy Scouts and achieved Eagle Scout in 2009. He joined the United States Air Force after high school and served in over 23 countries in his nearly 15-year Air Force career. He dedicated the last three years of his service to the Military & Family Readiness Center, supporting thousands of military families in need. Jeremy was known for his love for the Tennessee Volunteers, his passion about cars, especially his yellow Cobra Mustang and 1989 Ford Bronco, and his enjoyment of hunting and photography. He was a compassionate and skilled individual, always willing to lend a helping hand to those around him, and deeply devoted to his wife, sons, and family. Jeremy had a contagious smile, optimistic personality, and made each day better for everyone around him. He lived a life of passion, dedication, integrity, and adventure. Jeremy was a joy and a blessing to all, and he made an immeasurable positive impact in the lives of every single person who knew him.
Jeremy is survived by his beloved wife Aubrey Minnette Kanapaux, sons Beckham Sweeney and Bennett Sweeney, all of Valdosta; his father George Kanapaux and stepmother Jackie; his mother Marcy Dalton; step-sisters Alexis Brock (husband Stewart) of Charleston, SC, and Julie Peters (husband James) of Houston, TX; grandfather Aubrey Dalton of Charleston, SC; parents-in-law Pete and Minnette Suddarth of Valdosta; brothers-in-law John Suddarth (wife Caitlin) of Hahira, GA, and Tyler Suddarth (wife Caitlin) of Cairo, GA; as well as five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Miriam and Mike Kanapaux, grandmother Virginia Dalton, and nephew Michael Brock.
We have made every attempt to tell you about Jeremy, but his heart and all the people his heart touched cannot be contained in this description. Now we will tell you what we are certain of... Our lives are better for knowing him, and they will never be the same in his absence. We love you Jeremy.
A service to celebrate Jeremy's life will be held at 4pm on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at Park Avenue Church. The family will receive friends following the service from 5-7pm at the church.
