Jennifer Jo Coddington, age 50, granddaughter of Snowden and Maetrelle Shehan of Hahira, departed this Earth for the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, surrounded by her family. Jenny was born with many difficulties including Down Syndrome. Her health was poor but little by little she was strengthened. Jenny lived and attended school from 1972-1975 in the Valdosta area. When Jenny was 10 years old, she publicly confessed Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Holy Spirit years later. She graduated from Manzano High School, Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1987 and was in the Special Olympics for about 20 years. She worked for Parents Reaching Out for 25 years, Alta Mira for 30 years, and volunteered at Carrie Tingley Hospital for five years. She was active in the Friendship Club at Hope Evangelical Free Church, which was a great blessing. Jenny was an active member of Monterrey Baptist Church where she had many more friends, loved the Bible, and loved her offering envelopes. Jenny loved eating out at Hannah and Nate's, she loved her doctors, nurses, and caregivers, she loved her family, but most of all she loved her Jesus! Truly, Jenny loved everyone she met and always told them how beautiful, gorgeous, and handsome they were. It had nothing to do with flattery, she really saw everyone as a loving "friend." Jenny is survived by her parents, Neil and Betty Jo Coddington; sister, Julie Pederson and family; brothers, Jeffrey Paul Coddington and family, Jeremy Coddington and family, and Wilbur Koger and family; 12 nephews and nieces; 7 great-nephews and great-nieces; and numerous loving friends in Albuquerque and across the United States. Funeral Services have been held in New Mexico. Jenny will be buried alongside her grandparents at Sunset Hill Cemetery, on Saturday, June 24, 2017 following services in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home at 12 p.m. Jenny's life verse is Philippians 4:13.
