Jennifer Avery Long, 44, of Nashville, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2016. Born in Valdosta on January 19, 1972, Jennifer was a former member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She was a Paramedic with Deep South Ambulance Service, a cosmetologist, and a Dispatcher with the Cook County Sheriff's Department. Jennifer was a loving grandmother and she adored her four legged fur babies.
Survivors are her daughter, Hanna Black of Easley, South Carolina; her son, Austin Myers and her daughter, Alesa Bennett of Valdosta; fiancé`, Joel Lamar Steverson of Nashville; parents, Ronald and Janie Avery of Valdosta; brother, Ron, Jr. and June Avery of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister, Lisa and Sam Okroi of Norman, Oklahoma; uncle, Johnny Sansberry of Lake Park; grandchildren, ZoeAnn Grace Hanna and Isaiah Nathaniel Parham; nieces, Ashley Avery, Lauren and Aaron Roe, Morgan Okroi, Samantha Okroi; grandparents, John and Dorris Avery of Lakeland; and all of her special animals. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vernon and Martha Sansberry.
Funeral services will be held in the mausoleum at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 12:00 noon. Pastor Mike Nelligan will officiate. The family will gather at the mausoleum at 11:00 a.m. to receive friends.
