Jeffrey Thomas Strawder

Jeffrey Thomas Strawder, 42, of Ray City died Saturday, June 19, 2010 of an apparent heart attack while farming. He was born on July 27, 1967 in Hahira to June and LaDon Godwin Strawder. Jeffrey helped his father with the family farm working on it from the time he could start driving a tractor. He enjoyed fishing, farming, NASCAR and spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his parents, June and LaDon Strawder of Ray City, one sister and brother in law, Tonia and John Beville of Ray City, one brother, Philip Strawder of Thomasville, nieces and nephews, John, Kayla, Matthew and LeAnn Beville all of Ray City, uncles and aunts, Bobby and Sheryll Strawder of Lake City, Fla., Loran and Paula Strawder of Germany, Robert and Mildred Smith of Cocoa, Fla., Roscoe and Shirley Delk of San Antonio, TX., Patsy Godwin, Douglas Godwin and Sue Godwin all of Adel, Hazel Strawder of Hahira and Doris Strawder of Crescent City, Fla. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Cora Strawder, Shellie and Lois Godwin and uncles, Charlie Mack Strawder, Mark Strawder and Hubert Godwin.

Jeffrey was always there and willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends. It did not matter if it was working cattle, hauling cattle to market, cutting, fluffing, bailing hay, fixing fence, preparing a field for crops or working on equipment. All you had to do was ask and Jeffrey would be there. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Schappaugh and Mr. John Beville, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gaskins Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
