Jeff Bailey

Jeff (J.F.) Bailey, 82, of Valdosta, died on Friday, July 13, 2007 after a short illness. Born to the late T.J. & Ruby South Bailey in Randolph County, AL and formerly of Roanoke, AL, he has lived in this area for the past 54 years. Mr. Bailey and his son, Franklin, have operated Homes by Bailey for the past 23 years. He was very active with and past president of the Georgia Bible Camp, and was a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Rubye Bailey, of Valdosta; a daughter and son-in-law, Urenda & Walt Driver of Tallahassee, FL, a son and daughter-in-law, Franklin & Sabrina Bailey, of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Tracey (Rob) Stewart, Andrea (Jason) Meadows, Jarod Bailey and Travis Bailey. Also surviving are three great grandchildren, Ryan Stewart, Ethan Meadows and Ty Meadows; a brother and sister-in-law, Arnold & Irene Bailey of Woodland, AL and a sister and brother-in-law, Julie & Charlie Wilson, of LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bailey is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Bailey will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2007 at Forrest Park Church of Christ. Mr. Terry Broome and Mr. Forrest Chapman will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
