Jeannie Lameria Pennington

Jeannie Lameria Pennington, 73, of Valdosta, died on Monday, August 10, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Lakeland, Lanier County, Georgia, on August 12, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Fender Bridges. Mrs. Pennington was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Survivors are her daughters and a son in law, Debbie and John Stratton of Roswell, Denise Pennington of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Grace Pennington of Singapore; grandchildren, Marissa Pennington of Valdosta, Tyler Pennington of Crestview, Florida, Kai Pennington-Chia of Singapore; sister, Margaret Register of Ashville, North Carolina, sister in law, Vera Bridges of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Larry Pennington, brothers, Sam Bridges and Willie D. Bridges, and sister, Gertrude Moore.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Reverend Jerry Long, pastor of First Presbyterian Church will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
