Jeannette "Jean" Johnson, age 96, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 25, 2023 at Camellia Gardens in Thomasville, GA. Born on January 9, 1927, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late Admiral Dewey Ayers and Inez Vandiver Ayers. Jeanette completed her education at Commercial High School in Atlanta in the mid-1940s and spent her high school years working at a department store. Later, she joined her father at the Atlanta Beverage Company where she dedicated 25 years of her life. It was at this workplace that she crossed paths with Si Johnson, who would become her partner in life. The couple exchanged vows at the picturesque Anna Ruby Falls in Helen during the early 1970s. They settled in Lake Park's Hammock Lake area, enjoying a blissful marriage until Si's passing in 1998.
Jeanette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Virginia Bradford of Thomasville, as well as her daughter-in-law Carol Bradford of Gainesville, GA. Also left to cherish her memory are her stepson Joe and his wife Jenny Johnson of Valdosta, and her sisters Myra Jane Pace and Jacqueline Burkhalter, both residing in Helen, GA. Additionally, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren: Tara Janes (& Logan Joiner) Bradford of Buford, GA, Ginny Jean (Andrew) Charlson of Okatie, SC, Courtney (Ben) Young of New Carrollton, MD, Jim Bradford of Braselton, GA, and Michael (& Hannah) Bradford of Thomasville, GA. Furthermore, she leaves behind seven great-grandchildren. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph Leon "Si" Johnson, and her son Bill Bradford.
Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 2pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the River Pavilion at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at McLane Riverview Mausoleum. Prior to the service, the family will welcome friends from 1-2pm.
