Jeanette B. Partin

Jeanette B. Partin, 76, of Valdosta died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Langdale Hospice House. Mrs. Partin was born in Tennille, Georgia and moved to Valdosta as a young child. She graduated from Clyattville High School and a member of the New Harvest United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Partin began working at Schwartz's Department Store in the 1960's and in the 1970's purchased the store and operated until the 1990's. Mrs. Partin then later managed Only Options for fifteen years until her health began to fail. She had an incredible sense of style and was a skilled seamstress. She also loved flowers and was active in the Garden Club at the Crescent where she had served as president. Mrs. Partin was also a member of the Red Hat Society and well known for her catering and directing of weddings.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Scott and Angie Nichols of Valdosta, Steven and Sara Nichols of East Bend, NC., her grandchildren, Brooke (Robbie) Strickland, Christie (Josh) Harrell all of Valdosta, Justin Nichols of Winston Salem, NC, Andrea Nichols of Lincoln, NE, great grandchildren, Rylin Strickland, Karsyn Strickland, Levi Harrell all of Valdosta, two sisters and a brother in law, Margaret Carlisle of Plant City, FL, Cara and Dave Enos of Palmetto, FL, her niece, Nancy Elsberry of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, P.H. Partin, her mother and stepfather, Mary Lizzie Smith Godfrey and John William Godfrey, her father, Johnnie (Doc) Bailey, a sister, Sara Ruth Bailey and a brother, Wiley Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Sunday, November 24, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Robertson and Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
