Jeanette A. Meeks, 69 of Berrien County, died on Friday, March 11, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on December 30, 1935 in Waycross, she was the daughter of the late, C. A. and Clio Mercer Allen. She was a graduate of Waycross High School. Mrs. Meeks retired from the restaurant business and was a homemaker. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church for forty years.
Mrs. Meeks is survived by her husband who she married in 1955, Thurman Meeks of Berrien County; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mike Cartrett, Karen and Dail Batchelor and Kay and Jessie Rubio all of the Valdosta area; six grandchildren, Brandon, Melissa, Ashlie, Audrey, Amber and Nicholas; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Midge Allen of Live Oak, FL; and her mother-in-law, Idell M. Meeks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Meeks will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Willis and Reverend Rick Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Telmore Cemetery in Ware County. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
