Jean R. Sheppard

Jean R. Sheppard, 75, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at a local nursing home after a long illness. Born in Savannah, Tennessee, on June 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Roberta Linam Riddell. A graduate of the University of Alabama, Mrs. Sheppard was retired from Sears and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Harold R. Sheppard of Valdosta; daughters and sons in law, Patricia S. (Kevin) Boyette of Apopka, Florida, Phyllis S. (Clyde) Wolfe of St. Augustine, Florida; sons and daughters in law, Thomas M. (Rosemary) Sheppard of Valdosta, David A. (Suzanne) Sheppard of Phenix City, Alabama; 8 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 2 step great grandchildren; sister, Roberta Neil of Turkey Creek, Tennessee; preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2pm in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Reverend Douglas Reddick and the Reverend Robert Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
