Jean Moody Hunnicutt, age 92, of Hahira, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2016.
She was born in Shuqualak, Mississippi on March 24, 1924. Jean and her late husband, Lt. Col. Joel P. Hunnicutt of Macon, GA, moved to Hahira Georgia in 1968. Jean loved her life in Hahira, GA and she spent several years volunteering as a Pink Lady at Smith Hospital. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, college football and her weekly supper club and bridge with the ladies of Hahira. Mostly she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Jean was preceded in death by her Father, Charles Francis Moody and her Mother, Beulah Jane Moody and siblings; Francis, Otis, and William.
She is survived by her children, Melissa H. Stone and husband Buddy; Joel P. Hunnicutt and wife Lydia, J. Michael Hunnicutt and wife Ashby, Carrie Drew and husband Danny, and three grandchildren; Grant Hunnicutt, Megan Hunnicutt, and Caroline Hunnicutt.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her loving caregivers, Bobby and Stephanie for all their help, care and support.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 11, at 2:00 PM at the Hahira Methodist Church.
Burial will be at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date.
