Jean Cowart Johnson

Jean Cowart Johnson, 87, of Lake Park, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Albany, GA, on December 28, 1937 to the late Ammie Thomas Williams and Mattie Evelyn Cochran Williams. Mrs. Johnson played basketball in high school and also loved bowling and tennis. She was retired from Southern Bell. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed visiting the beach and spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter, Beverly Parker and her husband Lester, of Lake Park; her son Tommy Cowart and his significant other Candice Arnold, of Lake Park; her grandchildren, Ryan Parker and his wife Kacey, of Lake Park, GA, Justin Cowart and his significant other, Megan Duck, of Dasher, GA; her great grandchildren, Raelynn Parker, Lily Marcantel, Chance Cowart, and Molly Cowart; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Margaret Brewer, Virginia McCurdy, A.T. Williams, Jr., Hillman Williams, R.L. Williams, Flavius Williams, Clyde Williams, and Sarah Freeman.

A funeral service for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 1PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery.
