Jason Michael Buwa

SPC Jason Michael Buwa, 34, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.

Jason was born July 12, 1978 at Moody Air Force Base, Valdosta, a son of Michael A. and Judy Williams Buwa. He was dedicated to his family and his country; he was a loving husband, father, son and brother. Jason honorably served in the Georgia National Guard for five years, deploying to Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan with Operation Enduring Freedom from 2009 to 2010. He was a decorated soldier earning numerous medals and accomplishments. Jason was also dedicated to mentoring and teaching children, and he greatly enjoyed being an Assistant Coach with the Boys and Girls Club 7 and 8 year old Little League Program.

Jason is survived by his wife, Sarah Adams Buwa, and son, Thomas Charles Buwa, of Valdosta; his parents, Michael A. and Judy Buwa of Valdosta; two brothers and one sister, John A. and Holly Buwa of Quitman, Theresa and Alex Watts of Valdosta, Tommy and Jessica Wyatt of Naylor; nieces and nephews, Andrew James Watts, Candice Korreyn Watts, Tara Page, Sierra Stonerock, Thomas Kasson Wyatt and Emma Grace Wyatt; his maternal grandmother, Ida Williams of Hahira; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, H.D. and Glenda Adams of Thomasville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carlos Williams, and John C. and Theresa M. Buwa.

The Funeral Service for Jason will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Chaplain Bill Barrow officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
