Janie Ruth Shiver

Janie Ruth Shiver, 59, of Valdosta, died on Friday, December 7, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Ware County, Georgia on May 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Lester Pittman and Nannie Doris Ruskin Pittman. Mrs. Shiver was a homemaker.

Survivors are her husband, Earl Carter; her mother, Nannie Doris Pittman of Waycross; her children, Loretta (Curtis) Adams of Valdosta, Kevin Howell of Atlanta, Richard (Lynn) Howell of Valdosta, Rhonda (Juan) Grantham of Valdosta; brothers and sisters, Raymond (Janice) Pittman of Waycross, Betty (James) Hall of Manor, Marynell Harper of Waycross; grandchildren, Breanna, Cliff, Mersela, Brandon and Nicholas; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a very special friend, Jennie Helton.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Reverend Raymond Gabbard will officiate.
