Janice K. Hamel 61, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 following a lengthy illness. She was born on November 20 1952, in Grand Forks, ND. Mrs. Hamel was an artist/framer and member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hamel is survived by her husband, Raymond F. Hamel Jr., of Valdosta: two daughters and one son-in-law, Stephanie (Roger) Dowling, of Valdosta, Holly Hamel, of Atlanta; two sons, Joseph Hamel and Jon Hamel both of Valdosta; a granddaughter, Danielle Sharon, Gulf Port MS; two grandsons, Will Sharon of Kerrville, TX; and Brosy Gossett of Atlanta; her parents Morris A. and Patricia J. Boushee Kobetsky; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond F. Hamel, Sr., and Sue Schultz. Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers, Patricia Kobetsky, Detroit Lakes, MN, Cynthia Snider (Michael) Evergreen, CO; Carolyn Larson (Jay), Grand Forks, ND; James Kobetsky (Joanne) Grand Forks, ND; and Tony Kobetsky (Caryol), Grand Forks, ND.
A funeral mass for Mrs. Hamel will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 10:00 am. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Father Ray Levreault officiating.
